Marianne Virgili serves as President and CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association. As a Certified Chamber Executive, Marianne Virgili undertakes and effectively executes a myriad of exigent duties. In her top position, Virgili manages an office staff of eight while overseeing program development, budgeting, and operations of the firm. She serves as Editor and Publisher of Official Insiders Guide to Glenwood Springs, manages the Visitor Information Center, and serves as Film Commissioner for the Glenwood Springs Film Commission.
In recognition of her years of effectual leadership, Marianne Virgilis organization was honored three times as one of the top three small/medium-sized chambers in the entire nation. Additionally, Marianne Virgili won the North American Travel Journalists Associations award for best publication writing for the Official Insiders Guide to Glenwood Springs, as well as 16 ACE awards from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives for chamber publications and communications. Marianne Virgili mentored a high school youth group, leading them to earn a Daily Point of Light Award from President William Clinton and the Outstanding Colorado Youth Philanthropy Award from Governor Roy Romer. For her influential leadership in the movement to benefit regional economies, Marianne Virgili was named a 2009-2010 Ford Fellow by the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Regional Sustainable Development.
Marianne Virgili graduated Cum Laude from Kent State University. Vice President of the Cardinal Key Womens Scholastic and Leadership Honorary, Marianne Virgili was also a member of the Pi Gamma Mu and Alpha Lambda Delta scholastic honor societies. In addition, Marianne Virgili was named an Outstanding Senior Woman Graduate and one of Kent State's Junior Women of the Year . She also acted as President of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and received the leadership award.
Marianne Virgili currently serves as secretary of the political advocacy group Community on the Move. As a volunteer, she serves on the Board of Trustees at Valley View Hospital and the Valley View Hospital Foundation, the Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER), and the Roaring Fork Valley Community Health Plan boards of directors. Virgili formerly served as President of Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives and Chair of the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Managment as well as on the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Western Association of Chamber Executives. She was intrumental in forming the Glenwood Springs Downtown Development Authority and is a previous board member.
